According to the Shahr-e-Bourse, President Masoud Pezeshkian stated at the opening ceremony of the annual capital market conference : “We are trying to make ourselves efficient as a first step, not to create additional costs, and to stop the trend that always leads to budget deficits in the parliament.”
Referring to the root of inflation, he noted: “What we have understood and experts are also pointing to is that one of the main factors of inflation is the expansion of the government and the type of policies and programs we have in the government.”
Pezeshkian added: “It is not easy to sum up this situation that has occurred over many years, but we are trying to resolve these problems by holding numerous meetings. We believe that to control costs, we must start with ourselves.”
The President, with a frank admission, declared: “The reality is that the ratio of our costs to our efficiency is not appropriate. The imbalance of electricity, water, and gas is a reality that we are now facing, and we ourselves are ashamed that this situation has arisen.”
He went on to explain the savings formula and said: “If we can save just 10 percent, which is not at all far-fetched, we can save nearly 900,000 barrels of oil per day . With this 10 percent savings, we can make development meaningful.”
Pezeshkian stated bluntly: “We are the ones who cannot make the right decisions. We are scheduled to hold meetings with the Chamber of Commerce and manufacturers every month to identify problems and provide solutions.”
The President emphasized: “We are ready to correct and fix any obstacle that stands in the way and is related to the government. Our main concern is inflation, which has created heavy pressure on people’s livelihoods.”
He added: “Even if we can spend 20 percent on people’s livelihoods, we can definitely solve people’s livelihood problems.”
Pezeshkian gave a positive diplomatic signal and announced: “In terms of foreign policy, very good openings have been created and we can easily connect with regional markets. We are opening a large market for ourselves.”
The President announced the leap in clean energy and said: “In terms of clean energy, we have discussed solar panels more than 200 times in the past, and by the end of this year, this figure will reach 1,000 times.”
He urged the people: “We ask our dear people to save on electricity and gas consumption; we are not saying not to consume, but to consume and manage it optimally.”
Pezeshkian made the biggest promise and emphasized: “We can remove obstacles and we will try to eliminate mandated pricing. You cannot turn around and manage the economy with mandates.”
The President explained the government’s management philosophy and stated: “Organizational leadership in the world is a priority, not organizational do’s and don’ts. An organization that gives orders is not successful; it is participation that makes an organization survive.”
He concluded by promising: “We can manage fuel and consumption in society with the help of the people. Our effort is to move forward as much as possible without interruptions or with minimal interruptions, and we are preparing for the summer so that there are no power outages. Our concerns with neighboring countries have also been largely resolved, and we are removing obstacles through dialogue.”
