According to the Shahr-e-Bourse, the market for certificates of deposit and gold-based financial instruments witnessed a significant increase in the value and volume of transactions on Tuesday, December 24, so that the total number of gold certificate of deposit transactions reached 2.5 hemats.
On this day, 1,584,706 gold bullion certificates, equivalent to 158 kilograms of bullion, were traded at a value of 2.3 hemats. Also, 1,298 gold coin certificates worth 151 billion tomans were traded, bringing the total value of gold-based certificate transactions to a remarkable 2.5 hemats.
In the gold investment funds sector, 1 billion, 178 million, 783 thousand, 312 fund units were traded at a value of 6 hemats. Among the funds, the Lotus Gold Fund, with a ratio of 4 percent of the value of futures transactions to the value of underlying asset transactions, accounted for the largest share of daily activity.
In the area of gold-based options contracts, 337,899 contracts worth 83 billion tomans were traded. In this sector, Lotus Gold Fund recorded the highest ratio of options trading volume to underlying asset trading volume with 3%.
Also, in the gold futures market, 523 contracts worth 40 billion tomans were traded, and the total number of open positions in this sector increased by 84 positions, which indicates the expectation that the gold market will continue to move in the coming days.
