According to the Shahr-e-Bourse, the chicken market in Iran showed a wide range of prices depending on the type and condition of the product.
Market Price Highlights:
Whole fresh chicken could be purchased for around 147,000 toman at approved/cooperative rates (official controlled pricing).
In the open market (with processing and cleaning services included), fresh chicken with daily slaughter services was priced up to approximately 316,000 toman per kilogram.
Premium and luxury chicken products (such as fillets and special cuts) were selling at noticeably higher prices, reflecting stronger demand and value‑added processing.
Overall, the poultry market on January 5 showed significant price variation between basic and higher‑end chicken products, illustrating ongoing volatility and consumer cost pressures in Iran’s protein market.
